In this issue we honour the life’s work of Alfredo Cunha with a cross-section of the Portuguese Leica photographer’s oeuvre. Also featured: stunning actors’ portraits by Eolo Perfido, and a reportage on Pakistan’s boat-dwelling Mohana tribe by Sarah Caron. Cédric Roux’s visual love letter to the French port city of Marseille evokes summer feelings, while Heiko Hellwig’s orchestrations of Siamese fighting fish abound with colour.
In the technical section, you find out more about the new firmware update 2.0 for the Leica SL2-S, as well as Leica’s cooperation with the online photo lab WhiteWall, and the new JMGO O1 Pro projector – a joint venture between Leica and JMGO.
A studio, a glass aquarium in front of a black backdrop, and strong flash lighting is about all Heiko Hellwig needs to put on a great performance. At the very heart of the project are Betta splendens, better known as “Siamese fighting fish”: with gorgeous colours and filigree fins, this species is destined to become a true star of the stage.
